As much as your significant other loves you and maybe even covers for you in front of other people — nobody likes a snorer.

It’s recommended that mattresses are changed every 6-8 years to avoid some of the big issues associated with snoring.

Another cause of snoring comes from what position you’re sleeping in at night.
Snoring is most commonly associated with back sleepers. This usually goes hand-in-hand with the kind of support they’re getting on their mattress. It’s logical, in that case, to think sleeping on your side is a good alternative, and you’d be right in thinking so.
There are, however, important things to remember for side sleepers. You need to have a mattress that supports that position properly and a medium-firm mattress is generally the way to go. The spine needs to be aligned with the mattress so as not to add additional pressure.
